Bonnie grew up in the prairies and attended art school there. Not long after, she moved to the west coast. The Cowichan Valley has a strong arts community, and she belongs to three art groups. Her paintings are exhibited at least twice a year.
Bonnie studied fine furniture building at Camosun. Afterwards she opened a custom furniture business. It was all very exciting, with lots of hard work. Initially she gave up her weekends and evenings. As her customer base grew, so did her skills. Her daughter Arwen joined the business and found the most challenging pieces, were the most rewarding. "Restoring an armchair, long forgotten in an attic or basement, is the best. Sometimes such pieces take more work and patience but the transformation is so satisfying. These older antiques are so well crafted and designed."
