Bonnie grew up in the prairies and attended art school there. Not long after, she moved to the west coast. The Cowichan Valley has a strong arts community, and she belongs to three art groups. Her paintings are exhibited at least twice a year.
Bonnie studied fine furniture building at Camosun. Afterwards she opened a custom furniture business. It was all very exciting with lots of hard work, giving up evenings and weekends. As her customer base grew, so did her skills.
Her daughter Arwen joined the business a few years later. She finds the most challenging pieces the most rewarding. "Restoring an armchair, long forgotten in an attic or basement, is the best. These pieces often require more repair and patience but once transformed look so amazing. These older antiques are so well crafted and designed."
